Values
Artistic Excellence
We are committed to delivering live music performances and programs that are high-quality experiences.
Integrity
We conduct our affairs with respect for and in cooperation with others. We are professional, responsible, transparent, and ethical. We model and encourage creativity, entrepreneurialism, collaboration, community, innovation, and authenticity.
Community / Social Engagement
We think of our community as a valued stakeholder. We consider sustainability in everything we do. We recognize the importance of accessibility to our audience. We know that our future is deeply enriched by and connected to the lives of creators, artists, consumers, and life-long learners.
Inclusive and Welcoming – Hallmarks of Ottawa Chamberfest
At Chamberfest, we work to build a world where the rights, dignity, and worth of every human being is respected and celebrated. Within our organization, we work to create a climate that is respectful, safe, and inclusive – where all feel welcome and valued, and where all are supported to make their contribution. We value equity and diversity. We recognize the identities we hold may grant or deny us privilege. We also recognize that we have multiple identities that intersect. We have a special responsibility to create space, to listen to diverse voices, and to respect and promote emerging leadership.
Ottawa Chamberfest adheres to the Canadian Human Rights Act, which covers the grounds of “race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family status, genetic characteristics, disability or conviction for an offence for which a pardon has been granted or in respect of which a record suspension has been ordered.” It is expected that all will become familiar with these grounds and honour them in order to have better interactions with everyone and to better achieve our vision of changing lives through music. Discriminatory speech or conduct hurts and divides; we will not tolerate conduct that undermines the dignity or self-esteem of any individual.
As we come together, whatever our role within Chamberfest – volunteer or paid staff alike – we reaffirm our collective commitment to mutual respect and accountability.
