Our late-night Chamberfringe concerts cross genres and art form. Offering everything from lively Arabic jazz to Middle Eastern-Metal fusion, Indigenous beats, and ambient chamber-electronica to Yiddish folk song, or a full-on Ukrainian-Celtic-Arab mashup, there’s always something fresh to check out!

This year the shows will take place at La Nouvelle Scène, Club SAW, and The Gladstone Theatre, providing a more casual setting where audiences can enjoy beverages and immerse themselves in the buzzing late-night atmosphere.

Moskitto Bar offers fresh and zingy mix of Ukrainian, Balkan, Iraqi, Middle-Eastern, and French Celtic music in a toe-tapping multicultural buffet of sound at La Nouvelle Scène Gilles Desjardins on July 26 @ 21:30h.

A flamenco-style seduction of the senses with Tamar Ilana & Ventanas at The Gladstone Theatre on July 27 @ 21:30h.

JUNO Award-winning string quartet of celebrated solo artists, The Fretless, joined by Winnipeg-based singer-songwriter Madeleine Roger at The Gladstone Theatre on July 28 @ 21:30h.

Nick Schofield’s latest release “Ambient Ensemble” was inspired by a series of concerts where special guests were invited to improvise. This will be the first (and perhaps only) recreation of this unique album that features unique techniques and instrumentations. Join us to hear it at Ambient Ensemble: Nick Schofield, Philippe Charbonneau, Yolande Laroche, & Mika Posen at Club SAW on August 1 @ 21:30h

Catch Juno-nominated Cree cellist Cris Derksen at SAW with singer Rebecca Benson and strings in a performance that braids the traditional and contemporary at Cris Derksen & Friends at Club SAW on August 2 @ 21:30h.

With intricately crafted songs ranging from traditional Arabic sounds to reggae to ballads to multicultural blues/jazz/pop, Ahmed Moneka’s musical storytelling will touch on his experiences as an Afro-Iraqi refugee and his passion for human rights. Catch him with his performance of Moneka Arabic Jazz at The Gladstone Theatre on August 3 @ 21:30h
