Be the first to hear these emerging young composers!

Ottawa Chamberfest and the uOttawa School of Music are pleased to present the 2024 Student Composer Workshop. Hear the world premieres of 6 string quartets by student composers performed by a professional ensemble. Composers will join a conversation about their work with the musicians and audience. One quartet will be selected for an additional performance at a New Music Now concert at Chamberfest 2024.

The works, in concert order, were:

Qin Tai Tan – Fragments Over a Pale Sea
Angela Geleynse – Autonomous
Cameron Hunter – Breathless
Kristiana Tavityan – Disquiet Relief
Zachary Greer – As the Pendulum Swings
Mohammed Motevaselan – Remedy

The 2024 Student Composer Workshop is a part of the Beaudry Somcynsky Visiting Composer Lecture Series held at the University of Ottawa. Admission is free, but registration is required.
