City Series: When Pan meets Syrinx
The elegance and virtuosity of the French music in this program will evoke narratives and scenes from nature. Well-known works such as Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune are juxtaposed with lesser-known French compositions, all within the turn of the 20th century impressionist tumult.
Gertrude Létourneau, flutist and Catherine Donkin, pianist created Duo Cecilia, offering a repertoire filled with French elegance and virtuosity. Duo Cecilia combines a great musical sensibility with a warm sense of presentation. Gertrude and Catherine seek to engage listeners in their programs by making a concert an interactive experience. ‘’When Pan meets Syrinx’’ makes storytelling an integral part of the concert.
Chamberfest’s City Series has been bringing live music to Ottawa’s City Hall (and beyond) for a decade. This year’s Spring lineup features emerging artists and local favourites from the Ottawa Children’s Choir (ahead of their Western Canada tour) to flute virtuoso Gertrude Letourneau to our Steinway young artists to the world premiere of a new work by p. lukic. Join us for these noon hour recitals on Tuesdays for FREE!
