Jean Despax

Jean Despax is one of the founding members of Quatuor Despax. Second violin in this family ensemble, Jean Despax completed his conservatory studies at the Conservatoire de Montreal. Jean has furthered his studies, along with his siblings, with Calvin Sieb of Gatineau and with the Orford String Quartet.

“We simply live off our music, Classical music is great, for sure, but we can do more than that. Being versed in the classical idiom actually allows us to do other things, too.” says Jean Despax, and his YouTube channel is testimony to his flexibility and sense of fun.
