Cendrine Despax

Canadian violinist Cendrine Despax is a member of Quatuor Despax. Her chamber music career has taken her to many festivals and concert series in Canada, Europe and South America. From 2011 to 2013, the Quatuor Despax was the resident quartet at Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Montreal. Since September 2013, the quartet has maintained its residency at the Église Notre-Dame-de-la-Guadeloupe in Gatineau with its own concert series. She is also a member of the Quatuor Sabayon and the Ensemble Obiora.She works in the artistic life of the Outaouais region in many styles and formations, including symphonic music (Orchestre Symphonique de Gatineau), pop and others.
She teaches violin privately and at De La Salle public high school. Since September 2018, she has been directing the Chorale Saint-Pierre-Chanel at Sunday masses at Saint-Pierre-Chanel church in Notre-Dame de l’Eau Vive parish.
Cendrine Despax is co-founder with her sister Valérie Despax of the festival “L’Art de la Musique | The Art of Music”, which takes place in Gatineau during the summer in July.
