Record Centre : Radia

Under the moniker Radia, Ryan Davis is an innovative composer-performer, combining inspiration of classical, folk, electronic, and hip-hop music with a loop pedal. Praised by The WholeNote as “showcasing multitudes of colours and possibilities, with much skill and imagination,” Radia, also known as Saskatchewan-raised artist Ryan Davis, has swiftly emerged as a singular creative force. Unifying his extensive classical training with the inspiration of folk, electronic, and hip-hop music, he finds himself seamlessly blending in between creative spaces, having been described as a “composer, violist, and electronic Wunderkind” (OperaRamblings). Radia’s performance will feature original compositions that utilize looping technologies, woven into a curatorial flow including covers of pop hits and classical favourites in new and unique contexts.

Hear Radia again, this time with the Ironwood Quartet, at Chamberfest’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, Thursday, August 8 (Closing Night).

The Record Centre Series hosts eclectic programming that resonates against a backdrop of vinyl, vintage speakers, and reel-to-reel gear. Here, artists are at play, exploring and expanding their creativity in this casual space.

Note: this venue has limited capacity and is standing room only. No seating available.
Admission by donation (PWYC).
