Le Consort: Hidden Treasures of the Baroque
Please note that this concert has been cancelled; one of the artists is expecting a child and needs to postpone the tour to North America. We are excited to extend the invitation again as soon as is possible. Tickeholders have been sent an email with instructions and options; please check your inbox!
The young and energetic French foursome Le Consort make their Chamberfest debut with a program of hidden gems.
If you have never heard music by Dandrieu, Merula, Guignon, or Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Le Consort will introduce you to these unjustly neglected Baroque masters – and more! These inquisitive musicians passionately seek, perform, and record exceptional works by overlooked composers, delighting audiences with the thrill of new discoveries. In this program you will encounter virtuosic Italians, melancholic Brits, elegant French, and one of the first women to make a career as a composer.
