collectif9
We are thrilled to present collectif9’s RITUÆLS as a pre-recorded film-concert which the group created during the early days of the pandemic.
“RITUÆLS is a film-concert by Montreal’s chamber group collectif9 that brings together music dating from the Middle Ages to the 21st century in a multidisciplinary work. A mystical artistic experience confronting the infinitely large with the infinitely small, the cosmic with the microscopic, RITUÆLS delicately questions our place in the universe and in relation to our environment. The performance of the charismatic Stacey Désilier (dance) accompanies us through the concert like a supreme presence, complementing this imagery.”

Collectif9 is at the vanguarde, redefining classical music. This ensemble rethinks every element of music presentation and recontextualizes everything – I find that so invigorating and exciting! Rituals is a unique show Collectif9 designed to explore sacred spaces and the concept of rituals. So many classical concerts take place in these sacred spaces. How wonderful to be able to experience this show here at Carleton Dominion Chalmers, Chamberfest’s very own sacred space.
